The day did begin with prayers followed by cricket. Silicon Valley started on the wrong foot when a few of their guys did not show up to play. They were left with no choice but to wing it with 8 Khudaam against a full force of 14 Khudaam, 6 Ansar, and 4 Atfal of Bay Point.
Match 1
Bay point won the toss and was elected to bat. They scored 131 in 10 overs with Adeel with 37, Muzafar with 23 and Sageer with 20 runs.
Amin made 15 runs and Silicon Valley went all out for 43.
It was a terribly cold day and Silicon Valley thought that they would have had given a good fight with 8 people but Bay Point did not allow them this opportunity.
Adeel was in good form and hit some huge sixes and batted very smart, and from the other end Muzaffar and Sageer did not stop swinging the bat either. The tragedy was that in most cases Silicon Valley was watching the ball flying outside the boundary line without being able to do anything about it.
Faraz and Shazad started the inning but Sagheer took 2 wickets in the first over. It was a tough day for Silicon Valley batting it out when they were 4 out in 3 overs; Amin batted well and made sure that Bay Point stayed and filed for 10 overs.
Match 2
The second time around Bay point won the toss again and batted first.
This time Bay point scored 154 runs. Adeel scored 50, Sagheer scored 33 and Waqar scored 28 runs.
Silicon Valley scored 90. Waqas scored 30 runs, Amin scored 24, and Shazad scored 15 runs.
No matter how well Silicon Valley Kudaam thought that they were playing Bay Point was always one step ahead of them. Bay Point batsmen began the second match from where they had left off, which was in a state of victory. Adeel and Sagheer were outstanding and batted very well. Waqar help them to get a good total on the board.
Bay point did not give any extra runs and it was good until 6 over, but after that it was totally Bay Point’s game, and they had full control to finish off with another easy win.
It definitely looked like that Bay Point’s regular Saturday practices paid off today and took the win fair and square.
I want to thank all the Silicon Valley Khudaam who came out and sacrificed their family time for an experience of brotherhood, and gave its due importance. We all are brothers and it is always good to have a healthy competition between each other. Cricket is one way.
After the match we prayed together at the Masjid and the gracious Bay Point hosts provided delicious food and soothing tea.
Final Thoughts
I know now that Bay Point thinks that they can come to Silicon Valley to beat us there but my message to them is that, it won’t be that easy. We will cover that match too and give you the highlights when we get to it inshallah.
